Zilch is a virtual card you can use online or in-store wherever Visa is accepted. You can also order a physical card. When you use Zilch, we take payments from the debit card you link to your account.
If you choose Pay now, the full amount is taken from your linked debit card at checkout.
If you choose Pay over 6 weeks or Pay over 3 months, your payments are taken from your linked debit card on the scheduled due dates.
You can check your upcoming payments anytime in the app.
When is the money for my purchases taken?
When is the money for my purchases taken?
This depends on how you choose to pay:
Pay now
You'll pay 100% at checkout with Pay now, plus you'll get up to 5% back in Rewards when you enable your card first.
Pay over 6 weeks
You'll pay 25% or 50% at checkout plus any fees (we'll take this from your debit card) and the rest in three instalments every two weeks for a total of six weeks. You can check your payment due dates at any time so you'll always know when we're about to charge your card.
Pay over 3 months
You'll pay 25% at checkout plus any fees, which we'll take from your debit card, and the rest in three instalments of 25% made once a month. These due dates will be clearly shown in the Purchases section of your app.
Fees
Any Zilch fees eg for Pay over 6 weeks, Pay over 3 months or Snooze, will be taken from your account immediately.

If you think you won't be able to make your payment due date, then try Snooze and delay a payment (or more than one) without impacting your credit score.
There's not enough money in my account
There's not enough money in my account
You should always make sure there's enough money in your account before each payment due date. If you need more time for this money to become available, you can Snooze a payment.
It's also possible to change your linked debit card to another account, but your linked debit card must be in your name and the billing address must match the address on your Zilch account. Changing your card too often can also result in an account block.
