What is Tap and Pay?

Use Tap and Pay to make in-store purchases with Zilch

Tap and Pay lets you pay with Zilch in-store by holding your smartphone or smartwatch near a card reader.

Before you can use Tap and Pay, you'll need to add your Zilch card to a supported digital wallet.

Make sure you have the following before setting up Tap and Pay:

  • A verified Zilch account with an active virtual card

  • NFC enabled on your device (Settings > Connections > NFC on Android, or Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay on iPhone)

  • The latest version of the Zilch app installed

  • A compatible device running iOS 16 or later, or Android 9 or later

Which digital wallets work with Zilch?

You can use Tap and Pay with the following devices and digital wallets:

  • iPhone: Apple Wallet

  • Android: Google Wallet

  • Samsung devices: Samsung Wallet or Google Wallet

How to add your Zilch card to a digital wallet

To add your Zilch card to a digital wallet:

  1. Open the Zilch app.

  2. Select View next to Zilch card.

  3. Scroll down and select Add to Apple Wallet, Add to Google Wallet or Add to Samsung Wallet.

If you're using Samsung Wallet, you may need to copy and paste your Zilch card details into the Samsung Wallet app.

To help protect against fraud, make sure you delete your Zilch card details from your clipboard once you've finished adding the card.

How to use Tap and Pay with Zilch

Once you've added your Zilch card to a digital wallet, you can use Tap and Pay by holding your device near a card reader.

If you make a purchase without opening the Zilch app and enabling your Zilch card first, the purchase will be processed as a Zilch Anywhere purchase and a fee will apply.

How to get lower fees and higher Rewards with Tap and Pay

To access lower fees and higher Rewards, enable your Zilch card before making an in-store purchase.

To enable your Zilch card for an in-store purchase:

  1. Open the Zilch app.

  2. Select In-store.

  3. Search for your store.

  4. Choose how you want to pay

  5. Enable your Zilch card before completing your purchase.

Note: If your store isn't listed, you can still use Tap and Pay, but the purchase will be processed as a Zilch Anywhere transaction and standard fees will apply.
