How to manage the account of someone you’re caring for

Need to step in on someone’s behalf? Here’s how.

To be granted access to manage someone’s account, you’ll need to fill our 3rd party authority form.

If the you want to help a customer who is unable to manage their account due to incapacity, you’ll need to provide one of the following:

  • A registered Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs

  • A valid Enduring Power of Attorney

  • A Court of Protection Deputyship Order

We will also need to verify your identity, so we will ask you to provide copies of your:

  • Valid photo ID

  • Proof of address

If the customer is currently in prison, they can also contact us directly by writing to us or emailing us with their instructions.

Once we have the relevant documents or instructions, we can review this and advise on the next steps.
