How to manage the account of someone you’re caring for

Need to step in on someone’s behalf? Here’s how.

If you need to manage a Zilch account on someone else's behalf, we'll need to verify that you have the authority to do so before we can discuss their account with you.

What do I need to manage a Zilch account for someone else?

To manage a Zilch account for someone who is unable to manage it themselves, you'll need to complete our third-party authority process.

You can do that here – Third-party authority form.

We'll need one of the following documents:

  • A registered Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs

  • A valid Enduring Power of Attorney

  • A Court of Protection Deputyship Order

We'll also need to verify your identity.

Please be prepared to provide:

  • Valid photo ID

  • Proof of address

How do I submit third-party authority documents?

If you cannot access online support channels, you can send your documents to:

Zilch Technology Limited

111 Buckingham Palace Road

London

SW1W 0SR

What happens after I submit my documents?

Once we've received the required documents, we'll review them and let you know the next steps.

Reviewing third-party authority documents can take up to three business days.

What can an authorised representative do?

An authorised representative can contact Zilch and discuss an account, but only if permission has been granted through the third-party authority process.

Before we can discuss an account with an authorised representative, they must pass our security and data protection checks.

The authorised representative must be able to:

  • Confirm the required account details

  • Provide the password set for them on the third-party authority form

An authorised representative can only receive or discuss the information that permission has been granted for.

What can't an authorised representative do?

An authorised representative:

  • Will not be given full access to a Zilch account

  • Cannot discuss information outside the permissions granted

  • Cannot use third-party authority on more than one Zilch account

Third-party authority can apply for a fixed period of time or for a single disclosure, depending on the option selected on the form.

We cannot accept open-ended consent.

If the information provided does not match the Zilch account details, we may not be able to locate the account or discuss it with the authorised representative.

Where can I find more information about how my data is used?
