Your default purchase setting is how you'll pay for your Zilch purchases when you don't enable your card in the app first. For example, if you use Tap and Pay on the go, your payment will go through based on your default purchase setting.
Default purchase settings and fees
Any purchase you make without enabling your card in the app will count as a Zilch Anywhere purchase. To Pay over 6 weeks with Zilch Anywhere, the fee is between £3 and £3.50 for purchases up to £75 and between £4 and £4.50 for purchases over £75. Pay now doesn't have any fees and you'll earn up to 0.5% Rewards.
Can I change my default purchase setting?
Yes, you can change your default purchase setting at any time in the Zilch app:
Open the Zilch app
Go to My account
Go to Default purchase settings
Choose Pay now or Pay over 6 weeks
Remember...
You'll always get lower fees and higher Rewards if you enable your card in the app first. We list thousands of stores, and we'll always check how you want to pay so you can choose what payment method suits you best for every purchase.
What's all this about smart settings?
Well, default purchase settings are about to get smarter. We're rolling this out slowly – we'll let you know when your default settings change to smart settings.
What are smart settings?
Smart settings let you stay in control of how you pay – if you forget to enable your card before you shop, we'll automatically use the payment method you prefer. Choose between Pay now, Pay over 6 weeks (minimum spend £10) and Pay over 3 months (minimum spend £75).
As soon as smart settings are available for you, you'll be able to edit them any time and even choose if you'd like Pay over 3 months to kick in at a certain amount.
