What is Boost?

Boost lets you spend more than your available credit limit – find out how

Boost lets you spend more than your available credit limit.

The difference between your purchase amount and your available credit limit is taken as an immediate payment from your linked debit card at checkout.

If your purchase amount is higher than your available credit limit, Boost covers the difference by taking it directly from your linked debit card at checkout, alongside your usual downpayment.

Example of how Boost works

If your available credit limit is £200 and you want to make a £300 purchase, Boost will cover the extra £100.

At checkout, the £100 Boost amount plus your 25% downpayment on the credit portion (£50) will be taken from your linked debit card, making a total upfront payment of £150.

You'll then repay the remaining £150 across three fortnightly instalments.

You'll need enough money available in your bank account to cover both the Boost amount and your downpayment. If there isn't enough money available, your purchase will be declined.

How do I turn Boost on or off?

To manage Boost in the Zilch app:

  1. Open the Zilch app.

  2. Go to Account.

  3. Select Zilch card settings.

  4. Toggle Boost on or off.

When Boost is turned on, Zilch will automatically apply Boost at checkout if your purchase amount is higher than your available credit limit.

If you do not want to use Boost, you can turn Boost off at any time in Zilch card settings.

Is Boost turned on by default?

Yes. Boost is turned on by default.

If you've never changed your Boost settings, Boost will automatically apply when a purchase amount is higher than your available credit limit.
