What is Auto Snooze?

Automatically delay an unpaid instalment

Auto Snooze can automatically delay an eligible instalment if a payment isn't collected on time.

If Auto Snooze is turned on and your instalment isn't paid, Auto Snooze may delay the instalment by 4 or 8 days, depending on your Auto Snooze settings.

How does Auto Snooze work?

If an instalment isn't paid by the day after its due date:

  1. We'll try to collect the instalment again.

  2. If the payment collection fails and Auto Snooze is turned on, we'll try to collect the Auto Snooze fee.

  3. If the Auto Snooze fee is collected successfully, the instalment will be delayed by 4 or 8 days, depending on your Auto Snooze settings.

  4. Your payment schedule will continue from the new payment due date.

If the Auto Snooze fee can't be collected, the instalment will remain overdue and you won't be able to use Pay over time until the overdue instalment has been repaid.

How much does Auto Snooze cost?

Auto Snooze fees depend on the delay period selected in your Auto Snooze settings.

Auto Snooze fee for a 4-day delay

Snooze for 4 days is only available on Pay over 6 weeks purchases.

For Pay over 6 weeks instalments:

  • £1 per instalment

Auto Snooze fee for an 8-day delay

For Pay over 6 weeks and Pay monthly instalments:

  • £2 per instalment

Is Auto Snooze turned on by default?

Yes. Auto Snooze is turned on automatically by default – you can turn it off in your Zilch app.

By default:

  • Pay over 6 weeks instalments are delayed by 4 days

  • Pay over 3 months instalments are delayed by 8 days

You can manage Auto Snooze in the Zilch app by going to:

Settings > Payments > Auto Snooze

Can I still use regular Snooze?

Yes. You can manually Snooze an eligible instalment up to one day before the payment due date.

Manual Snooze gives you the same delay options as Auto Snooze, but at a lower cost.

Snooze fee for a 4-day delay

For Pay over 6 weeks instalments:

  • £0.75 per instalment

Snooze fee for an 8-day delay

For eligible instalments:

  • £1.50 per instalment

Can Auto Snooze apply to every instalment?

You can use Auto Snooze on each eligible instalment once, provided that instalment has not already been manually Snoozed.

You cannot use Snooze or Auto Snooze on the first instalment because the first instalment is paid at checkout.

What happens if I've already Snoozed an instalment?

If you've already used Snooze on an instalment before the payment due date, Auto Snooze won't apply to that instalment.

Auto Snooze only applies to instalments that have not already been Snoozed.

What happens if I have more than one instalment due on the same day?

If multiple instalments are eligible for Auto Snooze on the same day, we'll combine the Auto Snooze fees into a single payment.

If the Auto Snooze fee payment is collected successfully, all eligible instalments will be delayed.

If the Auto Snooze fee payment can't be collected, none of the eligible instalments will be delayed.

What happens if I already have an overdue instalment?

You can still use Auto Snooze on another eligible instalment even if you already have an overdue instalment.

Auto Snooze can still apply as long as the instalment has not already been manually Snoozed.
