Is Zilch a credit card or a debit card?
Is Zilch a credit card or a debit card?
Zilch isn't a traditional credit card or debit card. Instead, it offers payment options that can work in a similar way to either, depending on how you choose to pay.
How Zilch works like a credit card
If you choose to spread the cost with a payment option such as Pay over 6 weeks or Pay over 3, 6 or 12 months (subject to eligibility), you'll make an upfront payment at checkout and pay the remaining balance over time.
This gives you the flexibility to make a purchase today and spread the cost across future repayments, similar to how a credit card works.
You can also use Zilch to Pay now – paying the total upfront, as you would with a debit card.
How Zilch works like a debit card
If you choose Pay now, you'll pay the full purchase amount at checkout. The payment is collected immediately from your linked debit card, similar to using a traditional debit card.
This option also lets you earn Rewards on eligible purchases while paying in full.collected upfront. The exact amount will be shown in the app before you confirm.
